on being popular

the headlines all read
"This Blog Could Be Popular!"
and then it was so.

So SJ and I came up with a silly idea, at 3 a.m. here in the states and presumably at 3 a.m. down under as well, to create a blog that was about nothing. The Seinfeld of blogs. Taking scans or writing haiku about things in our pockets at the end of the day. It meant nothing more than a great goof.

Sure, a sociology student will see the great social commentary about class structure and proven so by the items we carry. The poli-sci people will all claim it to be relevant to our consumerist trends. The metaphysics assholes will tell us we have too much baggage on our physical plains and need to release this baggage in order to create order. Jane and I will tell you that haiku is funny, by it's nature, and silly pics of items in our pockets tends to show that we are inherently still that 6 year old that would pick up a piece of dog poo, if it was shaped funny enough, and put it into our pockets for mom to find on laundry day.

But, we have made the "Blogs of Note" and found ourselves to be popular now. Rad. Now, instead of soapboxing in a blog, because I have never read a blog where-in the writer uses a blog as a political soapbox, never, never ever, I will put a video of a great singer in the U.S.A. His name is david rovics.

what a clever blog! If I had my camera ready, I'd share the wrapping of my green tea cough drop from my back pocket.

I'm glad that you find things in your pockets!
I HAVE to go thru my pockets on a monthly basis for coins, or sometimes luckily, cash.
Now I feel like I'm not missing anything at all, thanks to you!

Have you found any "smuzz" in your pockets yet? Smuzz is the substance that you find in your pockets after laundry

Smuzz is an accretion of lint (including navel lint), laundry lint, paper and sundry items that have been washes, dried and compressed in a pocket.

It is a valuable substance, and could be used as a 'premium' stuffing for items.

Congratulations on making the list. All of us bloggers, now mutually envy you! But hey, you must have put a lot of work into your blogs in order to get there. And we will all have to do the same. Oh well, see you on the list.

Are you part of the revolution?

AMEN said...

hey patriot, there is nothing revolutionary about ron paul , hich i assume is hat you mean when you ask. if you mean a revolution of love and understanding and fairness and acceptance, then yes, if you mean the revolution of a rich white man who supports the taking away of resources needed by the poor and putting them into the hands of the wealthy elite, then, well, to quote a holy man...

You say you want a revolution, you better change your mind instead!

the revolution begins not with the support of a candidate but in the actions of the people. voting is a small and mostly insignificant part of democracy. democracy begins when people take the streets back and stand against violence. democracy begins when people take the airwaves back and speak out against oppression. democracy begins and war ends, when you want it.

What a cool idea for a blog! And that video was phenomenal. If I did a blog like this it would be about what I find at the bottom of my purse. It would probably be rather interesting... I find the WIERDEST things.

You defeated your purpose of a blog of Seinfeld proportions by choosing a topic, i.e. things found in pockets, otherwise very fun to read.

i just read a bunch of your blogs and i was really inspired. they were very personal and had a down to earth feeling. please keep writing!

you kinda inspired me to write my own blog today instead of just being a wall flower all the time.

please check it out and let me know what you think of it!

You rock. Verily.

Are you in Oz too? Then, double that rock comment. Double the "verily" too, you've earned it.

I just checked in my pocket...

A titanium sewing needle stuck in some Blu-tack, a temp tattoo of an eagle one of my kid's gave me because "Eagles are on your America flag Daddy!", a piece of chalk from the sidewalk out front, and two odd legos.

Thank you, I'm adding you to my day from now on.

Brilliant.

This is all good and well, but can you handle the Truth? If so, look no further than my blog. Thank you.

(Yes, posting a completely irrelevant reply to a arbitrarily chosen blog post to push my own blog is a bit peculiar, I agree. But I have poor impulse control. I simply cannot resist.)
